Centre Hospitalier Régional de Saint-Louis

Description of our hospital ward
Our facility is committed to providing ideal conditions for your hospital stay. We provide high-quality care in a comfortable, impeccably clean environment. With us, the human aspect is just as important as the medical one, which is why we give you a warm welcome and look after your well-being. As part of our quality approach, our meals are prepared by a chef under the supervision of nutrition and dietetics professionals.

When it comes to your medical care, our resident doctors review all patients’ files every morning, in collaboration with the nursing staff. What’s more, we take care of you even after you leave, providing you with the necessary documents, such as prescriptions, and giving you the appropriate advice for your recovery.

At the Centre Hospitalier Régional de Saint-Louis, we believe that the quality of our services should not be reflected negatively in our prices. Our prices are competitive and in line with those of our competitors, while guaranteeing a high quality of service.

Admission
When you are admitted, you will need to provide administrative documents such as your identity card, your insurance card and a letter of guarantee. You’ll also need to provide medical information such as your health record, prescriptions, test results, X-rays, electrocardiograms, blood type and a letter from your GP. The letter of guarantee is important because it determines the room category to which you are entitled.

In emergencies, you can be admitted without full administrative formalities. However, you or a loved one will need to present the necessary documents to the Admissions Office as soon as possible.

Day hospitalization
If you are admitted as an outpatient, you will be seen by a doctor, undergo tests and/or receive the care you need to go home the same day.

Prolonged hospitalization
If you are admitted for extended hospitalization, you will stay at the clinic for a longer period of time.

Rooms
The Centre Hospitalier Régional de Saint-Louis has a good bed capacity, divided into two room categories: double rooms with two beds for two patients, and single rooms with one bed for one patient.

Accompanied by a relative
We understand that staying in hospital can be emotionally taxing. If you wish, you can ask a relative to accompany you during your stay. A bed and meals can be provided on request. However, it is important that companions observe certain rules, such as not disrupting patient care, not exposing the patient to a contagious disease and not disturbing the rest of other patients.

Food and nutrition
Menus are prepared by a chef in line with the dietician’s nutritional recommendations. Your meals are prepared on site, guaranteeing quality and hygiene. Depending on your state of health and medical prescriptions, a personalized diet will be set up by our dietician.

Please note that meal times are determined by the organization of the care service.

Exit formalities
Only the doctor in charge can authorize your discharge. However, we respect your freedom. So, if you wish to leave the clinic against medical advice, you can do so after signing a waiver releasing the clinic from liability.

When you are discharged, you will be asked to pay for your stay and receive the results of your tests and additional examinations.

If the patient is a minor, the responsible person must be present at the time of discharge and provide identification.
